I said that I hated the book five pages in, and that's true. I continued to read, though, as I tend to do. And I enjoyed the issue overall. The impact was felt, the shock was real enough. It's just that what happened on the fifth page really, really irritated me. I hate it when a good character doesn't get a fair shake, and I felt that this particular character has rarely gotten a good deal since his first introduction. But more on that later, when more people have had a chance to read the book.
In the meantime, I recommend this issue to any Aquaman fans. Except for the depressing mistake about Cerdian's gender (HE'S A BOY!) it's a very good issue.
