Ripples Through Time - 042

I'm reading every Aquaman solo adventure in publication order, one per day. After I read each story I'm going to post the cover/splash page and a few thoughts on the story.

Adventure #108 Aquaman Splash Page
Adventure #108 (September 1946) - The Stolen Light

A group of thieves turn off the light in a lighthouse that Aquaman is visiting, and set up a false light.

Aquaman apparently makes social visits to lighthouses, as he is visiting with the lighthouse keeper when the thugs attack and turn off the light. Aquaman doesn't figure out who the "light thieves" are until he tries to warn the ship they are attempting to crash. The folks on the ship shoot at him, and he learns that the ship is carrying Nazi war criminals to Europe for trial.

Finny Friends Report: Aquaman calls Tusky the walrus, who frees Aquaman, then pretends to be Aquaman so his captors won't know he's escaped. Aquaman gathers phosphorescent fishes to light up the coastline so the prison ship won't crash, and uses whales to first herd the fish up to the surface, then to attack the spies holding the lighthouse keeper captive. Tusky protects the lighthouse keeper during the flood the whales cause.

Captured/Knocked Out report: Aquaman is hit on the head by a rifle butt and tied up.

Quotefile: Aquaman, calling out in "walrus language", "NARHH! AGHGH!"

Have you read this story? What do you think?
