The clue came up in the Double Jeopardy round. Here's the category:
There were clues involving Batman, Spider-Man, and the Hulk before contestant Vijay Balse picked the $2000 clue, which was:
Vijay rung in and correctly answered with "Curry". He then went on to win the game, moving on to the finals on the 20th and 21st. The other clue in the category was a Superman clue worth $400.

I guess the pressure would've really been on Christine Valada (Len Wein's wife) for that category if she'd made the semi-s and ended up in that one. Alas, in her ToC game she was in an awkward position going into Final J!; possibly enough money to make the semi-s, but not a sure thing, and she bet enough and missed FJ to drop her down below the semi- level for this year.
Yeah, I was disappointed to see her not make it. But the scores for those games... whew. If she'd known how bad everyone else was going to do...
